RIGHT BRAIN STORY
With a degree in hand, I left university with anything but a job in mind. I couldn’t help but think, there has to be more. I made it my mission to seek an alternative life outside the nine-to-five grind, and that I would do it through travel. It only took my first backpacking trip to know that I was hooked! Not because it was insanely cool to be experiencing a world so foreign to me with my own eyes (it was!), but because I was connecting with people from all walks of life. I was amazed at how vastly different these people were from me, but here we were sharing an experience that made us the same.
Five years and 20+ countries later, I’m still amazed at what you can learn by just stepping outside of your comfort zone. My pursuit for purpose lead me to Thailand, where I taught English for 3.5 years, to Paris where I pursued my lifelong dream of studying pastry at Le Cordon Bleu, and to Nepal where I hiked the Himalayas. Travel made me believe in people, and how at every turn they will change you if you let them.
Now, I sit in a chair that provides me the opportunity to help people in organizations just like yours come alive through connection, too. I love every second of it! When I’m not marketing and designing all things BU, you’ll find me living energetically alongside my husband and our four crazy pets or in the kitchen whipping something up.
